The COVID-19 pandemic has strained the heritage sector, including the new traditions our organization has initiated. Additionally, the Black community has been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. With these unprecedented events happening simultaneously with the global reckoning of anti-Black racism brought to consciousness by the Black Lives Matter movement, it’s even more important to know HISTORY!

Our history continues, from the past to the present, even amidst a pandemic. History anchors us, especially during times like this.

Join us at the steps of City Hall as we feature community recognition profiles, honor Black history and raise the Pan-African Flag in solidarity.

We invite the public to meet us at the steps of City hall to reflect, honor, and celebrate the pivotal role Black Americans have played in shaping national identity and culture.

Black Scranton Project Center for Art & Culture Fund

We are excited to begin our journey to take Black Scranton Project to the next level by seeking to expand to a brick and mortar space to be called Black Scranton Project Center for Art & Culture. The mission of the BSPCAC is to create a restorative, innovative and essential safe space where the community participates in mutual aid and understanding. Your donation will help us get there. We can finally start opening the doors with small events and we can’t wait for you to take a look inside this month!
